Joe Prudden is a licensed architect and the owner of ARK-OLOGY. Founded in 2001, Ark-ologyhas been focusing on architectural design and ecological principles as one integrated process. Joe has been in the architecture industry since 1990 working with various sized firms with a vast range of project types and sizes. ARK-OLOGY started with the desire to focus on "real homes for real people with real budgets" rather than houses that waste valuable resources, time and energy. The desire was to have a positive impact on families’ lives and to help reduce the stress on the global environment. In his free time he spends as much time as possible with his family hiking, camping and fly-fishing. Joe is actively involved in several environmental organizations and volunteers time with several charities.
We base our business on the principle that all people deserve and need quality design services. We believe that architecture is a part of our lives and impacts how we see and interact with the world. Our home should be an expression of who we are, as well as where we live and how we feel about the environment. Design should be not only beautiful but responsibly designed, merging Architecture+Ecology into a holistic approach called Ark-ology.
Keeping our business small and employing a CO-OP approach, we work on only a few projects at a time, preferring quality projects over quantity. This also allows us to focus our creativity and energy on you and your project. We are concerned about social and environmental issues in architecture, design and construction and we actively design with these issues in mind. We are building a reputation as one of the few firms in the area who design and build healthy and environmentally sensitive homes. Biofire
With Biofire Kachelofen, the warmth stays in the house. Once every approx. 12 hours, you put a small amount of wood in your Biofire Kachelofen and light it. The wood takes about an hour to burn completely. The wood burns very hot, fast, and clean. This clean, complete burn makes Biofire Kachelofen very environmentally friendly. The refractory materials in the firebox and flue passageways very quickly absorb this heat and release it evenly over the next 12 hours. Fired once every 12 hours gives you 12 hours of even radiant heat.
The inside core of a Biofire Kachelofen consists of a refractory firebox and a number of passage ways. Each Biofire Kachelofen is individually designed to meet the draft in the chimney. This means that we take into account the type of chimney, the chimney height, the chimney diameter, and the elevation. Using this information, with the help of a computer, the draft in the chimney is calculated and the firebox and passageways are engineered. For each Biofire Kachelofen, a to-scale wood model is built, showing exactly where every piece goes. This ensures that the same high efficiency results that were achieved in testing are duplicated in your home. This engineering and wood modeling is unique to Biofire.

While RE Solar is happy to help you with small-scale purchases of solar panels and accessories, we are not an Internet sales company. Instead, our specialty is working directly with individuals , families, or businesses who are serious about effectively incorporating solar and wind power, either in new “off-grid” construction (i.e., no electric utility connection), or as a tie in to a residence or business where utility power is already available. Based on discussions with you about your desires, and appropriate on-site surveys and reviews of building plans and energy usage patterns, we design and install renewable energy systems best suited to meet your specific needs. Given that this type of service is best offered at a local level, we generally only take on clients within a two to three hour radius of our location in Torrey Utah. This includes the greater Capitol Reef/Bryce/Grand Staircase area, the Sevier Valley, and Emery County up to and including Price. We have done systems outside that general area but travel costs do become a factor. Unlike many dealers in the state, if we do not feel that we are best suited to provide service to you in a cost effective manner, we will steer you towards people closer to your specific location. Your needs come first.
