Roald Gundersen Natural Buildings and Living Systems
Roald Gundersen Design specializes in Whole Tree Architecture through custom building: home and landscape componentry, passive solar greenhouses, straw bale, and other natural building technologies. Whole Tree Building uses thinnings from small diameter trees and sculpts them into timber frame buildings. Unlike conventional lumber processing, invasive, wind damaged or diseased trees, are used extensively with Whole Tree Building. This process creates a sustainable building model that increases the health of forests and provides a stronger framework for a home. Quality, conventional lumber requires sufficiently straight, mature trees. Today, with few old growth forests, the diameter and age of milled trees have steadily declined. Thinning a forest and harvesting trees for whole tree building preserves the older,weather-wise elders and their time tested genes so vital to the biodiversity of forests to come.

Door County Corn Stoves
Door County Corn Stoves is a business dedicated to bringing the gift of bio-fuel stoves and furnaces to the American Home. It began as a natural offshoot of what the Haberli Farm Family has been doing here for generations, bringing forth feed, grains and milk from the soils of the Door County Peninsula. If you found us, you have probably been asking yourself whether or not a corn-burning or bio-fuel stove is right for you.
No one understands stewardship of the Earth, and terms like "renewable" and "sustainable" better than a Farmer. When you chose a bio-fuel stove or furnace to heat your home, you are: * Choosing Nature over Industry: burning corn or pellets is a renewable source of energy that is carbon neutral - instead of burning fossil fuels such as propane, oil, and coal that only add to the green house gases that are endangering our planet. * Choosing to support American farm families over giant corporations that currently control our energy supply. * Perhaps best of all, you are choosing to saving money! Burning bio-fuels is currently the least expensive form of heat for your home today.
